Where To Go

  Eating Out
Kings Lynn, the nearest town to Southside, has the usual array of the well known "fast food" outlets.
Independently owned, Chinese, Indian, Pizza, etc, restaurants, or takeaways, are also within easy reach.  Fish and Chips are also well catered for!.
A list of some restaurants in the area can be found here
But, if you are looking for pleasant surroundings with excellent service, and, most importantly, excellent food, then we have to recommend The Anvil Inn at Congham. Just five minutes away by car.
  Horse Racing

Horse racing enthusiasts are well catered for with two tracks in Norfolk.
Just thirty minutes down the A148 is Fakenham.
A journey of just over the hour along the A47 takes you to Great Yarmouth.
Venture in to Suffolk for the renowned training town, and race course, of Newmarket.

  Entertainment

Is a night at the theater for you?. Yes!, then two are within easy reach.
The Corn Exchange is located in the Market Square, Kings Lynn, or a trip to Hunstanton for The Princess Theatre, which overlooks the Green and the Wash.

  Bird Watching
This area is ideally suited for "twitcher's".
We have two RSPB reserves within a thirty minute drive.
The first is the RSPB reserve in Snettisham, and the better known Tichwell reserve. Two other reserves well worth a visit along the A149 are, Holme next the Sea, or further along the coast to Cley.
Cley was in the news for the sighting of the White Headed Sparrow in January 2008.
  Stately Homes
Literally, just down the road, is The Queens Norfolk Retreat of Sandringham, a "must see" for anyone staying in Norfolk.
Travel along the A148 and visit Houghton Hall
A journey along the North Norfolk coast will take you to the very popular Holkham Hall
  Motor Sports
Kings Lynn is the home of the Norfolk Arena. Home of the Kings Lynn speedway team, and has regular Banger racing, and other motor sport events throughout the year.
If fast cars or motorbikes are the sport for you, then Snetterton, situated on the A11 between Norwich and Thetford, is the place to visit.
  Auctions
Are you always looking out for a rear painting, piece of furniture or porcelain?. Then the auctions held at Fakenham every Thursday, or Snettisham on a Friday, will surly be places that you will love to visit.
  Markets
If you like to barter for a bargain, then the centuries old market, held every Tuesday in Kings Lynn, will be a place you will want to visit.
Thursday is market day in Fakenham, or why not call in to the old market town of Swaffham on a Saturday, while on you way to stay at Southside, or before you make your way home.
  Walking
With bridal ways and the Peddars Way, finding somewhere to walk will never be a problem. The beaches of Holme next the Sea, Brancaster, and Holkham are a "must visit".
Not forgetting a walk along the beach at Hunstatanton, where the famous cliffs can be seen. Or a quiet stroll through the two designated walk ways in Sandringham woods.
